The LEADS project went under review for its first year in Brussels on 12 November 2013. The reviewers highlighted the work undertaken on the project the first year, whose goals were achieved with minor deviations. Following a successful review, the Commission granted the project's continuation. We warmly thank the reviewers for the important feedback we received and we rejoice with our partners for our first year's success!

UniNE teams up with other LEADS partners and external partners to organise the 4th International Workshop on Cloud Data and Platforms (CloudDP 2014), co-located with ACM EuroSys 2014 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on April 13, 2014. It will be the fourth in a series of workshops that bring together researches interested in cloud-based platforms for high-velocity, high-throughput, big data processing. EuroSys 2014 is a premier forum for discussing issues of systems software research and development.

Etienne Rivière gave a keynote talk last week to the 32nd IEEE Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS 2013), closing the pre-symposium workshop day (Workshop on Planetary-Scale Distributed Systems, PSDS 2013, and 2nd International Workshop on Dependability Issues in Cloud Computing, DISCCO 2013). SRDS is a top-tier forum for researchers and practitioners interested in distributed systems design, development and evaluation, particularly with emphasis on reliability, availability, safety, security, trust and real time.

All partners met recently in Chania (Crete, Greece). This was the second face-to-face meeting held by the LEADS project.
